I often forget that many of our advertising supporters are manufacturers too. They invest in technology and continuous process improvements just like our mold-building readers. I was reminded of that again during a recent visit to the HRSflow facility in Byron Center, Michigan, with the MoldMaking Technology team. We checked in with this hot runner solutions provider to give MMT’s Digital Editor Cara Decknadel her first tour of a hot runner manufacturing facility.
HRSflow develops hot runner systems for the plastic injection molding industry across many industries. The business includes 1,000 employees, with headquarters in Italy, Michigan and Hangzhou. They provide customer support with 50+ service centers globally. Among their menu of technology solutions is the FLEXflow servo-driven valve-gate system, which MMT has covered a few times, but the important takeaway from this visit from Cara was the workflow and quality demonstrated on the production floor.
It's been two years since my last visit but the commitment to production planning and quality control is still evident. I thought I’d share my initial look at the facility from two years ago, but add in Cara’s photos from last month’s trip.
