Beaumont Technologies’ AIM Institute is creating a new Mold Maintenance Center of Excellence that provides comprehensive education and training for anyone in the injection molding industry who is responsible for mold maintenance, management and upkeep. Understanding and applying industry best practices in these areas improve the longevity of molds and their processes, saving time and costs associated with repairs and replacements.

The mold maintenance training courses joined the Beaumont Family of Companies’ comprehensive offering this past summer when Steve Johnson, owner and founder of MoldTrax, passed on the legacy of these successful courses to the AIM Institute. There are five available courses that cover industry-relevant topics including:

  • Mold maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
  • Hot runner troubleshooting and repair
  • Mold maintenance strategies
  • Mold component welding, polishing and repair
  • Mold texture and repair

Each class enables students to have an in-depth, hands-on learning experience in each respective area according to job function and company needs; the classes complement each other and provide a comprehensive training experience for moldmaking personnel. Participants who complete all courses receive an Excellence in Mold Maintenance Certificate highlighting their commitment to their trade.

These five courses are available to enroll in now at the MoldTrax facility in Ohio, with the Mold Maintenance Center of Excellence set to open at Beaumont headquarters in Erie, Pennsylvania, in early 2024.

The AIM Institute is committed to gathering feedback from moldmakers, conducting research and implementing updates to ensure course content is as applicable and useful as possible to moldmakers and repair shop managers.
