CNC Machine Tending Automation Modernizes Shop Modularity
IMTS 2024: Shops looking to address the shortage of skilled workers and rising operational costs can look to Lyndex-Nikken’s EZ-Automation product line for simplified machine tending.
High-performance machine tool accessories company Lyndex-Nikken Inc. introduces the EZ-Automation product line, in response to the demand for high-mix, low-volume quality parts, delivering quality parts on time and modernizing for Industry 4.0/5.0. The first automation product in this product line is the EZ-AutoCart designed to easily automate CNC machine tending.
Lyndex-Nikken’s EZ-Automation products are designed with simplicity in mind. All EZ-Automation products are based on modularity and scalability ranging from machine tending, to machine loading, to pallet changing and modular tending platforms. They also minimize the need for advanced robotics or automation skills, and can be integrated with existing technologies.
The EZ-AutoCart, with no-code automation, specifically automates CNC machine tending of CNC lathes, mills and similar machines. It is reported to boost spindle time and enhance overall machine efficiency. Its integration capabilities include 16 digital I/O to control peripheral devices; management of auto doors open/close and workholding open/close; an optional hub to provide data mining and quick change between multiple CNC machines; and monitoring of CNC machine conditions.
The EZ-AutoCart’s vision capabilities include integrated camera for 2D/3D vision and optional software for 2.5D picking.
The EZ-AutoCart boasts a payload capacity of 18 kg, a reach of 1,300 mm, maximum joint speed of 435 deg/s and repeatability of ±0.025 mm. Options available include workholding, end-of-arm tooling, infeed grid plates, safety scanners and integration support.
