mHUB Chicago and MxD named M4 as the Fourth Revolution Awards ’ Small-Medium Sized Manufacturer of the Year. The ceremony took place on October 2, 2019, at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago to highlight and celebrate leadership, innovation and achievements of the Midwest’s manufacturing ecosystem. The company states it is honored to receive the award.
The Small-Medium Sized Manufacturer of the Year award recognizes a small or mid-sized manufacturer that has demonstrated its excellence in business practices, innovative processes and productivity enhancements as well as contributions to its local community.
M4 is a design and manufacturing house that makes meaningful products in plastic. As a plastics injection molder, it is redefining what it means to engage in manufacturing. Hiring a full-time industrial designer, Kyle Swen, founding partner of Astro Studios, Inc. and now chief design officer of M4, to launch the design-side of the business was an evolution for both the company and the traditional manufacturing model. It challenges the status quo and sets the company apart as a driver of the fourth revolution.
Last month, mHUB announced M4 as one of the five finalists in the Small-Medium Sized category. The other finalists were Laystrom Manufacturing Co. (Chicago), Pioneer Service Inc. (Addison), Prismier, LLC (Bolingbrook) and United Conveyor Corporation (Waukegan).
