This episode is brought to you by ISCAR with New Ideas for Machining Intelligently.
This special MMT Chat Series delivers five best practices in five minutes on ways to improve efficiencies. My guest today is Camille Sackett, Vice President of Sales and Project Management for Accede Tool and Mold in Rochester, New York, who is also one of MMT’s Editorial Advisory Board members.
Here are her five quick answers in a nutshell (watch the quick 5-minute video for his full answers):
1 How do you create and maintain an employee-centered culture?
An employee with passion who is dedicated to maintaining our culture based on family values.
2 What are your top three best technology investments and why?
Moving to hard milling, upgrading EDM cells with robots and simulation software—not just mold flow, but also simulations and understanding the steel, the material properties, and how different steels handle different stresses and forces.
3 What is your latest process and improvement?
Our project management. Engineers used to be responsible to project manage their tool designs from the start through to managing them while they're running production at customers facilities. Today we have a team for project management to free up the engineers so that they can focus on their tool designs and not be pulled off into the project management responsibilities.
4 How do you measure success?
Customer satisfaction, ontime delivery and how well a program ran through our quality management system.
5 How do you stay competitive?
Leadership and a focus on the quality of the mold that we build and providing the appropriate resources, education and equipment.
