2020-2023 Editorial Advisory Board: Meet New Board Member Dave DiCarlo
One of MoldMaking Technology's 2020-2030 Editorial Advisory Board members is Dave DiCarlo.
Dave DiCarlo, currently Sales and Program Manager for Michael Tool & Mold of Oldcastle, Ontario, Canada, is one of MMT’s new Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) members.
The next member of our new Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) is Dave DiCarlo.
Dave is an experienced program manager with a demonstrated history of working in the automotive industry. He is an experienced art and design professional skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, solid modeling, automotive design and CAD.
Dave joins MoldMaking Technology’s Editorial Advisory Board with almost 22 years of service to Michael Tool & Mold. He started as a mold designer after taking four years of mechanical engineering at St. Clair College and took on the position of program manager in 2016. He currently acts as a liaison between the company and the customer from kick-off through to the life of the tool program to ensure the team meets all quality, timing and cost requirements.
Prior to the program manager role, Dave worked in machining, assembly and general labor, design, purchasing and estimating. The majority of his experience has been in designing plastic injection molds.

Established in 1978, this shop takes pride in its ability to provide a high degree of sophisticated engineering along with precise manufacturing. The Michael Tool & Mold team focuses on building long-term relationships with its customers and consistently aims to provide innovative solutions to complex tooling needs.
Michael Tool & Mold (Windsor) Limited is a Canadian-owned and operated company that was founded in 1978. The original tool shop, Vista Tool, was located in Windsor, Ontario. In 1979, the company incorporated and was formed under a new name, Michael Tool & Mold (Windsor) Limited. In 1984, Michael Tool & Mold constructed a new facility located in the heart of the tool manufacturing community known as Oldcastle, Ontario. Over 40 years later, the company is still family-owned and operated by Mr. John Sulaiman, son-in-law to Mr. Peter Hui.
Most recently, as of 2021, Dave is tooling engineer/technician for NYX Inc. based in Livonia, Michigan.
The areas of expertise Dave brings to the board include design, estimating, part and tool feasibility. He is prepared to contribute insight on business issues, shop floor/process/workflow, mold materials, mold components, advanced technologies, training and workforce development and global competition. Dave hopes to gain industry knowledge from other board members facing similar daily obstacles, networking and expanding his knowledge of the automotive industry.
Dave is married with four children and enjoys vacationing with the family. He volunteers as a soccer and hockey coach and likes building and renovating homes.
