Spotting Press Facilitates Safe, Productive Adjustment, Inspection and Repair of Molds
Millutensil highlights its specialization in mold and die spotting presses for mold validation, equipped to meet the needs of the operator when accessing or adjusting the mold.
Millutensil is a dynamic family-run company with almost 70 years of experience in the production of mold and die spotting presses, die splitters and machinery for sheet metal processing. The Blue Line production line, specifically, has enabled Millutensil to establish itself in the automotive industry worldwide, thanks to its advanced technology and product quality.
This line includes a wide range of mold spotting presses, i.e., high-precision machinery that facilitates the adjustment, inspection and repair of molds. Currently, molds are becoming increasingly complex, so it is necessary to use the right technology to replace obsolete, inaccurate and unsafe methods, such as overhead cranes and forklifts. Moreover, mold validation by means of state-of-the-art spotting presses enables the simulation of production conditions to prevent quality problems and production stoppages. This results in time and cost saving as well as higher productivity.
In order to meet the needs of different moldmakers, the Blue Line is divided into two different series: the BV series, which includes machines for small-sized molds, and the MIL series for medium and large molds.
Millutensil spotting presses are designed in order to meet the needs of the operators, equipped with ergonomics that guarantee their safety such as a state-of-the-art fall prevention safety device. To facilitate access to the molds and the adjustment phase, the operator has the possibility to handle molds at any angle and position. Thanks to this type of control, the alarm of the press is activated in case there is an imbalance of the upper platen that could damage the mold itself or the press (such as a tool forgotten between the platens).
Spotting presses are also provided with a control system of the upper platen parallelism, with four linear magnetic encoders, which ensure high precision and accuracy.
