DMG MORI highlights an addition to its machining series, the DMU 75 monoBLOCK 2nd Generation. This machine offers ergonomic design with a 20% optimized temperature stability and accuracy with a positioning accuracy of 4 µm in the linear axes. Level four connectivity with IO-Link sensors and preparation for an automation interface are already on board as standard. The company says these measures make the machine future-proof.
Features that benefit moldmakers include:
- Direct drive motors in X-/Y-axis
- Increased thermal stability over Gen1 (20% improved)
- New helical gear train for A/C axis
- Scales on all axis standard
- Siemens control
The optimization of the monoBLOCK concept lies primarily in the components that are instrumental in ensuring high-precision machining. The ball screws of the X and Y axes are directly driven and feature cooling measures, while the helical gear train of the torsionally stiff NC swivel rotary table ensures optimum surfaces even in continuous operation. In addition, thermosymmetrical cooling of the slide reduces inaccuracies.
The second generation of the monoBLOCK machine provides ergonomic design and control technology, a modular system for flexibility and a versatile automation range.
