Neck Relief Option Optimizes End Mill Cutting Strength
M.A. Ford’s TuffCut family addition, the nine-flute XT9 380N series, meets high-speed machining of demanding deep pocket milling applications head-on, for tool steels and other materials.
Through M.A. Ford’s TuffCut line, which features cutting tool options designed for mold and die steels, the company presents the TuffCut XT9 380N series end mill. The nine-flute solution is designed for high-speed machining of titanium, Inconel, tool steels and similar materials. The 380N features the benefits of M.A. Ford’s 380/380CB series, but now with a neck relief, included to optimize cutting strength in deep pocket milling applications.
The end mill series is coated with ALtima Xtreme (AX) to ensure performance in demanding applications. The added protection also increases the TuffCut XT9 380N’s maximum service temperature to 2012°F. An uneven nine-flute design reduces harmonics to provide stable machining zones for precision machining with a 37-degree helix angle. It is available in standard and long flute lengths.
