RJG Announces Winners of Inaugural Mold Smart Award
RJG’s Mold Smart Award celebrates injection molding companies that have fully committed to improving the quality of their products, lives and the world by implementing a variety of RJG solutions.
RJG announces the winners of its first annual RJG Mold Smart Award, which celebrates injection molding companies that have fully committed to improving the quality of their products, lives and the world by implementing a variety of RJG solutions. RJG is presenting one award in each of its global locations in North America, Latin America and Asia.
Plastikos was selected in North America due to its successful implementation of RJG's technology, utilization of training and integration of RJG into their ongoing processes and procedures. According to RJG, the company is continually seeking to address and improve its plastic injection molded parts and places a high importance on quality and efficiency.
Plastikos manufactures critical quality-of-life or life-sustaining medical devices and electronic connector applications with no room for error. Since implementing RJG technology, its production volume has reportedly increased by 365% while parts per million rejects have decreased by 90%.
Plastikos uses both RJG training and technology to reduce scrap rates, downtime and external reject parts. It can identify problems quickly by using templates made during qualification and cycle graphs to pinpoint where cycle problems occur, and automatic sorting is said to ensure that only quality parts are sent to the customer.
The other two winners of the Mold Smart Award are Yanfeng in Latin America and Stoneridge Inc. in Asia.
YanFeng is a world leader in the automotive industry. The company focuses on automotive fields like interior, exterior, seating, electronics and passive safety. It reportedly manufactures over fifty million door panels, ten million instrument panels and eight million consoles annually and was ranked seventeenth in Automotive News' Top 100 Global Automotive Parts Suppliers in 2020.
Stoneridge Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of highly engineered electrical and electronic systems, components and modules, primarily for the automotive, commercial vehicle, motorcycle, agricultural and off-highway vehicle markets. Its utilization of RJG training and technology reportedly enabled them to gain global standardization, improve quality control and improve part quality.
