MGS Launches New Brand Positioned in Healthcare Manufacturing
The Wisconsin toolmaker’s expanded global footprint and capabilities over the last few years bridge the gap for delivering more high-volume, complex healthcare innovations globally.
MGS Mfg. Group, best known for its rich history as a manufacturer of complex tooling, automation technologies and high-precision plastic components, has taken a bold move forward in the positioning of its new brand. Focused solely on the healthcare industry, the brand elevates MGS’ status as a single-source solutions provider to leading pharmaceutical, xiagnostic and medtech companies worldwide.
The brand launch follows strategic acquisitions of European toolmaker Formteknik, Danish product development and design firm Technolution, and Winther Mould Technology, a Danish healthcare tooling manufacturer. Coupled with enhancements to its state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing operations in Ireland, Mexico and the U.S., MGS can now deliver more high-volume, highly complex healthcare programs globally with greater speed than before.
“Our new mission is to leverage our expertise and vertically integrated capabilities to transform our customers’ most pressing challenges into innovations that improve lives,” Paul Manley, MGS president and CEO, says. “For our customers, this means access to robust capabilities — from product design to full assembly — combined with the strong customer focus and seamless collaboration of an agile partner. For our employees, this means we can make a meaningful difference in peoples’ lives in the work we do every day.”
In North America, MGS is building on the entrepreneurial spirit and history of innovations that have long been a hallmark of the company. A new 120,000-square-foot Innovation Center at its headquarters campus in Germantown, Wisconsin, will leverage collaborative workspaces, Class 7 and 8 cleanrooms and a dedicated quality lab to deliver early product development innovations from a single location — without disruption to its manufacturing environments. This space for upfront development gives customers the ability to move with speed and precision to meet demanding timelines. MGS also continues to evaluate opportunities to serve customers in new locations, including the exploration of a new facility in Costa Rica.
“I’ve had the privilege of being part of MGS for more than 25 years and have experienced firsthand the breakthrough innovations that define this company,” Manley adds. “MGS’ new brand announces that we’re going to keep this momentum going — not just in our manufacturing and product innovations, but in the innovative ways customers can access our unique expertise and end-to-end solutions from every MGS location. That’s the future we’re producing. That’s the future healthcare innovators need to bridge the gap between imagination and realization.”
