This special MMT Chat Series delivers five best practices in five minutes on ways to improve efficiencies. My guest today is Adam Shaal, Business Development Manager for Roembke Mfg & Design in Ossian, Indiana.
Here are his five quick answers in a nutshell (watch the quick 5-minute video for his full answers):
1. How do you create and maintain an employee-centered culture?
It happens pretty naturally for us. We're a family-owned business located in a small town in Indiana, so everyone knows each other, so it's not really something we've had to struggle with.
2. What are your top three best technology investments and why?
Our five-axis machines, our investment in an automation company a few years ago and our recent expansion into California.
3. What is your latest process and improvement?
Our holistic approach to scheduling. We look at every department and every piece of equipment constantly to understand how it is being used, etc. We developed in-house software.
4. How do you measure success?
Ontime delivery and customer satisfaction.
5. How do you stay competitive?
Consistently investing in new technologies, new pieces of equipment and employees.
