With so much happening in a busy show year between NPE2018, Amerimold 2018 and IMTS 2018, MoldMaking Technology is revisiting some of the technology that was on display. Hirschmann Engineering displayed the Kohn ZSS 80 AUT self-centering vise. Designed for use with all zero-point clamping systems, it is available in two bed lengths and clamping ranges. Built for medium-size and large workpieces, the vise is said to be lightweight enough for mid-range robotic systems. The vise features reversible, two-stepped jaw attachments with grip bars for non-machined surfaces and has a centering accuracy of ±0.02 mm. The vise can be mounted directly to the machine or used with the company’s 9000 pallet system.
