Hot Runner Technologies Address Efficient Color Change, Independent Control
Yudo introduces its ISO diffusion bonding process, Yudo Pack system and Yudrive II servo-driven hot runner systems at this year’s K Show.
Yudo features three technologies at the K Show, including hot runner manifolds showcasing its ISO diffusion bonding process — currently the only hot runner brand using this process in its hot runners, Yudo contends — the Yudo Pack system for the packaging/multi-cavity markets and Yudrive II servo-driven hot runner systems.
ISO diffusion bonding is a process used for hot runner systems that require color changes. It is suitable in packaging, medical and long glass fiber applications. The inside flow channels are CNC machined, then polished and all sharp corners are smoothed. Since Yudo is not gundrilling the manifold channels, there is no place for resin to “sit” inside the manifold system, according to the company. Steel pieces are placed in the bonding machines and then tested to 3,000 bar to ensure they will not separate under molding conditions.
The company’s Yudo Pack system was developed for the multi-cavity industries such as packaging and medical. When paired with Yudo’s ISO-bonded manifolds, the specialized nozzle design is said to create industry-leading color change efficiently. Yudo says it sees up to 50% reduction in color change times when directly tested against competitors.
Yudo’s Yudrive II servo-driven hot runner systems offer up to 16 drops control. It has the ability to control the closing force on the cavity, and can run independently, without the need of a tablet. Yudrive II offers a Manual/Purge button for resin purging and quick color change. It provides an independent Wi-Fi network to communicate with the control, has the ability to connect with mobile devices and has no need for reference of motor when starting.
The K Show runs October 19-26, 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
