EDM, Milling Systems for Mold and Die Application Enhancements
MC Machinery wire and sinker EDMs like the Mitsubishi SG12 and MV2400, as well as an Ingersoll Eagle V550 graphite machining center, provide more ergonomic and efficient operations.
MC Machinery offers wire and sinker EDM machines, including a new Mitsubishi artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled sinker EDM as well as other EDM and milling machines like the Mitsubishi MV2400 wire EDM and the Ingersoll Eagle V550 five-axis milling center that are accurate, cost-effective and provide optimal speed and performance for manufacturers.
The Mitsubishi SG12 sinker EDM’s AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies combine to provide insight into and control over its productivity, efficiency, uptime, maintenance and more. The SG12 sinker comes with MC Machinery’s Remote360 cloud-based machine monitoring system, which provides real-time expert remote diagnostics along with a seamless measurement of and access to valuable data that can provide the insight necessary to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability.
According to MC Machinery, this combination of AI and remote monitoring can improve machine productivity by 30% and cut machining time in half while reducing waste and electrode wear. Additionally, both new and experienced operators benefit from the Mitsubishi M800 CNC control with its 19" ergonomic touchscreen.
The MV2400-R Mitsubishi wire EDM is ideal for applications requiring ±0.0001 tolerance, also featuring a larger tank capacity and low operational costs. The MV-R series features improvements in machine construction, auto-threading, internal machine communication and power supply technology. It also highlights Mitsubishi’s dedication to high precision, with innovations including the highly reliable noncontact cylindrical drive system on the X-, Y-, U- and V-axis drives.
The Ingersoll Eagle V550 graphite machining center is another highlight, featuring high-speed, high-precision five-axis machining for small graphite electrodes and mold/die components. Graphite machining can be a shopfloor bottleneck, particularly with simultaneous complicated projects; the Eagle V550 is known for building electrodes faster and more efficiently.
