CUMSA USA introduces its new remote date stamp system to achieve a more reliable, precise and controlled traceability approach, not only to identify when the part is molded, but to also quickly recognize what parts are affected if any engineering change or recall situation may happen.
Daters come with an external controller installed outside of the mold, which is said allows the user to change date information in the mold easier, faster and more accurately while minimizing production stops and improving production time. CUMSA says this new design will help prevent situations such as large production stops, difficulty accessing to the date stamp and misaligned date stamp positioning.
The new product has also been developed with cleanroom molding in mind, but is not limited to that industry or environment. Since the use of this new system minimizes user interaction with the mold cavity, CUMSA says it works well in environments where quality control and traceability are critical. Additionally, CUMSA date stamps are offered in a new marking method with a contrast of textures, where neither the numbers nor the indicator arrow are raised, eliminating all corners susceptible to dust.
Two engraving sizes, including raised lettering (0.005 mm ± 0.001) and recessed lettering (0.10 mm ± 0.05) in two dimensions—ø8 and ø12—are available to suit all customer needs. Four different engravings (three shifts, 31 days, 12 months and 10 years) are also offered to users.
