Zeiss opens a metrology services center in Buffalo Grove, Illinois near Chicago. “This additional Midwest location offers contract measuring services, support, training and project management," states Al Chiasson, the vice president of applications, aftermarket and metrology services for Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology LLC. The company offers metrology services in several regional areas including Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, Irvine, Minneapolis and Nashville.
Zeiss engineers provide programming, consulting and specialized training. A range of contact and optical measurement systems and sensors are available, including an addition to the Zeiss CMM lineup, the larger measuring range Micura. Ideal for measuring intricate parts, the CMM has active scanning and submicron accuracy. For optical measurements, the O-Inspect system features both optical and contact scanning for 3D accuracy. There are also surface, form and geometry systems to round out inspection capabilities.
