The inaugural Plastics Technology Expo (PTXPO) is only a couple of weeks away! The event will bring the North American plastics and moldmaking industries together under one roof to connect face-to-face — an exciting prospect after the last few years of social distancing and predominantly virtual events.
In order to keep attendees, exhibitors and staff safe, PTXPO’s show organizers are working with the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (DESCC), Rosemont Exhibition Services and the City of Rosemont to ensure that guidance from local and state authorities regarding COVID-19 is adopted at the event.
The most recent change came on February 28, 2022, when Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker lifted both the facial covering and proof of vaccination mandates. This means PTXPO attendees are not required to wear a mask nor disclose their vaccination status upon entering the event center.
While mandates are being lifted, PTXPO’s organizers still want to create an environment where everyone feels safe to attend and network, which is why they have created the “Protect to Connect” program. The program includes additional standards and protocols designed to keep show attendees safe:
-
Sanitation practices: The DESCC has increased the frequency of sanitation and disinfectant practices, especially in high-traffic and high-touch areas including hand rails, washrooms, doors and door knobs.
-
Training: The Rosemont Public Safety Department, paramedics/EMT, event staff and security personnel have been educated and trained in recognizing the signs, symptoms and prevention of COVID-19.
-
Signage: Show management will place informational signage throughout the facility outlining social distancing guidelines, facility practices and safety protocols.
-
Mask availability: A supply of disposable face masks will be available at no cost to any attendee, exhibitor, employee or group. Masks are not required, but they are encouraged to anyone who prefers to wear one.
-
Hand sanitizer: Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the show floor and in each of the common areas throughout the facility.
You can stay up to date on latest COVID-19 developments at PTXPO’s website, or through the Cook County Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control.
