GF Machining Solutions Hosts Grand Opening of Aerospace Center
GF Machining announces grand opening of North Carolina Aerospace and Energy Center of Competence.
GF Machining Solutions unveiled its new Aerospace and Energy Center of Competence during a grand opening event that began with an evening welcome reception at the Carolina Aviation Museum on Tuesday, April 24 and continued with an open house at the Aerospace and Energy Center of Competence on Wednesday, April 25. The new facility is located in Huntersville, North Carolina, and supports the company’s continued focus on providing comprehensive technology solutions to meet the demands of precision manufacturers, especially those within the aerospace and energy market segments.
During the event, attendees were given the opportunity to tour the new 21,000-square-foot facility that features a custom-engineered showroom for machine demonstrations and test cuts, training rooms and office space. Application engineers performed live cutting demonstrations on a variety of precision aerospace and turbine components using market-leading AgieCharmilles wire and sinker EDM machines, Mikron three- and five-axis milling machines and Liechti airfoil milling machines. The Aerospace and Energy Center of Competence evening welcome event featured special guest speaker Dan Vinton, a passenger on US Airways Flight 1549 “Miracle on the Hudson.” Grand opening activities on Wednesday included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and lunch. The event was open to anyone in the manufacturing industry.
