Throwback Thursday: Jig Grinding, EDM or High-Speed Milling?
By examining the advantages, limitations, features and applications jig grinding has compared to EDM and high-speed milling, you will arm yourself with the information you need to make the right decision when it comes to purchasing your next machine tool.
I came across this “tips” article about the benefits of jig grinding versus using EDM or a high-speed milling process. The author, Nelson Beaulieu, provides some interesting history about jig grinding and the (at the time) newer EDM technology, and then gives readers some food for thought by comparing and contrasting the use of various options for mold manufacturing.
This article comes from MMT’s January 2007 issue, and I hope you take a few minutes to read it. You’ll find our article here.
