Happy New Year! It’s January 2016 and that means there’s a whole new year ahead of us that’s filled with new opportunities to advance company goals and profitability.

There are many ways to create these opportunities, and I’m going to list a few here that will help get you started.

Opportunity #1: Tell MMT about your company and how it’s using the latest technologies – or even older technologies in a new way – to build better molds. I’m anxious to hear from you, readers, and in many cases your story can turn into a great feature article and public relations tool. Five years ago, before I joined the editorial staff at MMT, I contributed an article about public relations as an effective and valuable tool for promoting one’s business. In it, I outline several ways to gain exposure for one’s company. Check it out online here.

Opportunity #2: Get off the shop floor and onto the trade show floor. There are so many great events dedicated to our industry, including our amerimold Expo, which will be held June 15-16 in Novi, Michigan. There you can catch up with colleagues, see the latest products and services for doing your job better, up close, and take in technical conferences to learn new best practices and business strategies. Bring yourself, bring your employees. Consider becoming an exhibitor so you can feature your company’s capabilities and value advantages.

Opportunity #3: Share your expertise. Participate at amerimold or other conference programs as a speaker. This can be accomplished by joining a panel or by going solo, but in doing so you expand the reach of your professional experience and establish yourself as an authority on what you do. Many times this leads to authoring articles (see Opportunity #1, above) and before you know it, potential customers are seeking you out.

Opportunity #4: If you’ve already seized some or all of the above opportunities and you feel that your mold manufacturing company has accomplished quite a lot in the way of innovation, efficiency, quality and commitment to delivering the very best products and services, then please submit your entry for MMT’s annual Leadtime Leader Award!

Pick up the phone or send an email, but let me hear from you soon. Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year!
