R&D/Leverage® introduces a paradigm shifting concept in injection blow mold design. They have a six-cavity tool running three different bottles, three different preform designs, at different weights, lengths and neck finish sizes.

According to Bob Schiavone, the global marketing director at R&D/Leverage, the injection tool design is only circulating water through the neck insert and through the die set. No water is touching, or circulating through the injection cavity blocks. All water is run at 125°F (52°C) through one connection to the die set. Notice the tool start-up without the need to torch the nozzles.  With this Freedom tool design, you never pull the hot runner away from the molds prior to cool down or start-up, and you never have to size the individual nozzle orifice.
