AMBA Announces 2024 Mold Builder and Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award Recipients; Inaugural 2024 Emerging Leaders Rising Star Award

The American Mold Builders Association (AMBA) honored outstanding individuals and companies in the mold-building industry at its annual conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan last week.

Roger Fox of Accede Mold & Tool in Rochester, NY, was awarded the 2024 Mold Builder of the Year Award, sponsored by Progressive Components. Fox, a veteran in the industry, started his career at the young age of 21 in his family's garage. Over the years, he has risen through the ranks, showcasing his mechanical prowess and passion for manufacturing. In 2012, he took ownership of the business from his father, continuing the legacy of excellence and mentorship. Fox is known for his dedication to promoting careers in mold building, from apprenticeship programs to high school career fairs.

United Tool and Mold, based in Liberty, SC, was honored with the 2024 Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award. This award recognizes companies that have made a significant impact in education within the AMBA community. United Tool and Mold has been actively involved with local high schools and technical colleges, participating in advisory boards, career showcases, and plant tours. Through their apprenticeship program and community partnerships, they have helped shape the future of mold manufacturing.

Nick VanderZwaag of Legacy Precision Molds, Inc. was the recipient of the inaugural 2024 Emerging Leaders Rising Star Award. This award, sponsored by Gesswein and Mastip, recognizes new talents in the U.S. mold manufacturing community. VanderZwaag was recognized for his professional growth and leadership in the workplace. He has demonstrated integrity, collaboration, and a proactive approach to projects, making him a standout in the industry.
