SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association recently appointed Jacqueline Dalzell as director, industry affairs. Charged with building unifying outreach strategies that bridge the plastics industry’s various supply chain segments, Dalzell brings more than 20 years of experience in the plastics industry to the table – with a particular focus on management, sales, marketing and communication.

“I am delighted to bring Jackie Dalzell on board to work directly with me on SPI’s industry outreach initiatives,” said SPI President and CEO William R. Carteaux. “As our strong NPE2012 numbers for space sold, exhibitors and attendees indicate, the plastics industry and its trade association are on the upswing. As SPI is again on a growth spurt, it will become increasingly important for us to connect the entire plastics supply chain so that our members in different segments can harness their collective knowledge, realize new synergies and seize innovative market opportunities.  Resourceful and well-connected, Jackie  possesses talents that are well-suited for working with our existing Councils – Equipment, Material Suppliers and Processors – to forge mutual growth strategies and outreach initiatives as SPI heads toward 2020.”

Savvy in sales, brand management and developing revenue streams, Jackie Dalzell comes to SPI after a long and noteworthy career in the plastics trade press. Most recently, as regional vice president at Gardner Publications, Inc., she was responsible for a $2.1 million, 17-state sales territory for publications and digital products serving the plastics, mold making and composites industries.  With Gardner for over eight years, Dalzell’s career there also included serving as publisher of Plastics Technology magazine, as well as associate publisher of MoldMaking Technology magazine and the MoldMaking Expo.

At Canon Communications (now UBM Canon) from 1994 to 2003, Dalzell began as a district manager before being promoted to associate publisher of Injection Molding magazine. She launched her plastics industry career at Advanstar Communications, a worldwide media company, where she was national sales manager for Plastics Compounding magazine.
