SPE MTD Opens Nominations for 2025 Moldmaking Distinction Awards
The Mold Technologies Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Inc. is seeking nominees for its international Mold Maker, Mold Designer, Mold Repair Tech and Apprentice of the Year awards.
The Mold Technologies Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers invites you to participate in recognizing excellence in the moldmaking industry with its 2025 International Awards, which are now open for nominations.
These awards offer a unique opportunity to highlight the individuals who are redefining the boundaries of precision and innovation in moldmaking.
Celebrating Four Cornerstones of Moldmaking
They are seeking nominations across four vital categories that form the foundation of the industry:
- Mold Maker of the Year
- Mold Designer of the Year
- Mold Repair Technician of the Year
- Rising Star in Moldmaking (Apprentice Award)
These awards will be presented at the upcoming PTXPO on March 18-20, 2025, in Rosemont, Illinois. This event provides a global stage to showcase the pinnacle of moldmaking talent and expertise.
Nomination Criteria
You do not need to be an SPE member to nominate or be nominated. They are looking for individuals who:
- Have made lasting contributions to the industry or SPE
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise
- Maintain a reputation for conducting business fairly and honestly
Join a Distinguished Group
Winners will join the ranks of respected industry leaders such as Glenn Beall (Glenn Beall Plastics), Ivar T. Quarnstrom (DME), Glenn Starkey (Progressive Component) and Norbert Stengel (Northwestern Tool and Die). These individuals have helped to set the standard for excellence in moldmaking and plastics.

Submissions must be received by January 31, 2025 (end of business, Eastern U.S. Time).
