TRUMPF Inc. announces the opening of its state-of-the art technology center located in Costa Mesa, California. The 20,000 sq. ft. facility demonstrates the company’s commitment to customers by serving as a machine training and demonstration center in the western region. The company’s precision laser, punch, and bending capabilities showcased in the technology center’s 13,000 sq. ft. showroom, offers guests and customers the opportunity to experience seven machines from the company’s product portfolio along with hands-on training. When visiting, guests can also experience the company’s TruServices, TruConnect and TruTops software solutions to gain insight and knowledge on how their manufacturing processes can be fully optimized.
EVCO Plastics broke ground on an addition to its facility in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. With the inclusion of the 31,025-square-foot expansion, the company is positioned to meet the increasing demand for large part molding across a wide variety of industries and applications.
Part of the addition will house a new 2,500- and 3,500-ton press, with space remaining for two more large-tonnage machines. Dryers, portable chillers and other auxiliary equipment will also be added to support the new presses and increased production capacity. The remaining space will be an increase in warehouse storage for molds and finished parts.
With the new machinery facilitated by the expansion, the company will have a total of 35 large-tonnage molding machines over 1,000 tons worldwide and the capacity to handle large molds up to 100,000 lbs. To meet greater customer needs, employment at EVCO Oshkosh has increased by 20% since the beginning of the year. This trend is expected to continue with the introduction of the expansion.
The addition will be fully operational by January 2020. At that time, the plant will have a total area of 116,436 square feet and 22 injection molding machines.
Alro Steel is pleased to announce the purchase and expansion of its new Milwaukee facility (4343 S. Sixth Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin). The new location is 108,000 square feet with an addition of 96,000 square feet to be completed in late 2020. Upon completion, the 204,000 square foot facility will have updated offices, expanded inventory and additional processing capabilities. The company’s Wauwatosa facility (3000 North 114th St. Wauwatosa, WI) will be relocated to Sixth Street once construction is completed. The new facility will enable the company to focus on providing its customers with cut-to-size metals and next day delivery in Wisconsin.
Heidenhain announces the opening of a central U.S. sales office as part of the company’s continued North American expansion efforts. Operating in Longmont, CO, this office provides direct sales support for central U.S. and Mexico territories, previously managed in either the company’s longtime Illinois or its 2017-established California headquarters.
According to the company, the development is an extension of its ‘Customer First’ initiative to get even closer to customers. Centrally located near a growing R&D, industrial and high education corridor in Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins, the Longmont location will enable the company to more efficiently support customers with its motion control technology expertise.

StackTeck Systems Ltd. announces its first moldmaking plant outside of North America. The moldmaking facility in South Korea began as a subsidiary of its parent company in 2010 with a focus on building molds for PET preforms, medical, and packaging applications. This business will be called StackTeck Asia. StackTeck’s parent company is a family owned global investment group that holds a wide range of interests, including many equipment suppliers for the plastics industry.
