While at EASTEC last week, my publisher asked me to “cold call” a company that I hadn’t come across before. They welcomed me—and my colleague Emily Probst of Modern Machine Shop—with open arms!
Not only is Guhring a manufacturer of end mills, the company actually manufacturers, tests and applies their own coatings. When I spoke with Jeff Barkdoll at the booth, he said that moldmakers in particular are looking for an extended reach on an end mill to get into mold cavities. Now I am anxiously waiting for him to connect me with a moldmaker who uses their end mills so we can collaborate on a case study.
