With its more than 150 years of combined engineering and manufacturing experience, Fairway Injection Molding Systems of Walnut, CA, combines its precision technology with an ability to produce high-cavitation, high-volume molds for products in the medical, pharmaceutical, closure, personal care and technology industries. However, this story is about the love for automotive, or at least classic cars.

The Senate Resolution 452 (112th) designates July 13 as ‘Collector Car Appreciation Day’ and recognizes that the collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an important part of preserving the technological achievements and cultural heritage of the United States.

For the past four years, employees at Fairway Injection Molding Systems have acknowledged the Collector Car Day by driving in their cars. This year four of the seven collector/classic cars were driven in.

This year employees John Jansen (Technical Sales Engineer) brought in his 1962 Dodge truck that's been a 15+ year project. Robert Vaughan (Senior Mold Designer) and his 1968 Ford Mustang, Derek Christian's (Moldmaker) 2001 Bullitt Mustang and Steve Bilderain (Engineering Manager) with his 1970 Mach1 Mustang. He is the second owner.
