I know I often talk about the moldmaking community as opposed to the industry, but it's for a good reason. Of course, it is an industry that designs, builds, maintains and repairs one of the most vital "parts" to make the products we use every day. However, I believe the word community better represents this industry. The vitality of this industry is the people – the workforce that comes together to collaborate and innovate while pushing the industry forward amidst its many challenges.
This often includes efforts outside their work to give, honor and celebrate.
For example, here are just a few:
iWarriors
iWarriors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to honor severely injured soldiers from all branches of the Armed Forces by providing personalized technology packages to aid in their rehabilitation and recovery. MoldMaking Technology and the American Mold Builders Association members have supported and promoted this wonderful initiative since its founding in 2011 by Tim and Kim Bartz.
Mike Eden Scholarship
Mike was the founder of Eden Tool and president of Eden Manufacturing,
specializing in high-precision plastic injection molds and a certified moldmaker. Mike's positive attitude, determination and devotion were vital in establishing Eden Tool Company and building it into today's innovative and respected company. A common saying was, "We will do whatever it takes to help." Mike was always there to help and offer guidance and knowledge whenever needed. He was continuously building into the next generation of American manufacturers. His passion for the craft, the Eden team, cars and his family were unmatched.
