Mold-Masters is showcasing numerous new hot runner systems, controllers and auxiliary injection units at this year’s K Show. The following solutions include:

Co-Injection Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Solution

Using its co-injection multi-layer technology, Mold-Masters has the ability to combine two separate resins into a single, three-layer melt flow. This enables the injection of high PCR content as the core layer up to 50% of total part weight without sacrificing part quality or cycle time while minimizing virgin material.

PET-Series Two-Stage Hot Runner System

Mold-Masters’ new PET-Series hot runner system delivers consistent high-performance processing capabilities for optimized preform quality. The hot runner gives customers the ability to fill thinner preforms (lightweighting) to save resin. This is achieved through the iFlow Manifold, a two-piece manifold design incorporating patented melt flow geometry, flow path options and runner shapes. Mold-Masters also introduces a new PET-Series nozzle with improved thermal profile, field replaceable heater sleeve and industry-standard gate design.

Fusion Series G3 Hot Runner System

The new launch incorporates several major enhancements (over the previous FusionG2 system) that helps optimize mold design and simplify/speed up installation. These enhancements include reduced nozzle bore cutouts; new nozzle heater sleeves (optional); more compact actuators (PN and HY); and room temperature installation.

E-Multi Auxiliary Injection Unit (New EM5 Model)

Mold-Masters’ larger capacity E-Multi, the EM5, is an all-electric, servo-driven auxiliary injection unit that offers precision, repeatability, versatility and reliability. The unit extends the capabilities of the company’s auxiliary injection units by offering an expanded shot range of 550g to 1,237g (18 to 42 oz). This larger capacity is well suited to the production of large individual components and high-cavitation molds.

Axiom (TG-Thermal Gate) Single-Stage PET Hot Runner System

The Axiom (TG) hot runner system brings the latest processing technology to enhance molded bottle quality, increase productivity and lower cost per part. Its optimized design meets the needs of single-stage PET molders, featuring a new optimized nozzle and gate seal design, and incorporates Mold-Masters iFLOW manifold technology.

Symfill Technology

Symfill technology is said to significantly minimize core shift to improve part quality (straightness) of cylindrical, center-injected components having an aggressive L/D ratio. It achieves this by enabling the melt to enter the nozzle runner channel from multiple sides as opposed to the single-entry point of traditional designs.

Cylindrical Hot Valve – CP (CHV-CP) Gate

The new gate seal is engineered to extend gate quality production life and simplify maintenance. Suitable for packaging and other similar applications, it is compatible with commodity and polyolefin resins (PP, PE, TPE). It incorporates enhanced pin guidance, and features a replaceable gate insert and compact Ø3-mm OD tip (1.0-mm gate).

Dura+ Hot Runner System for Automotive Lenses

Dura+ Nozzles provide an enhanced thermal profile to maintain molded part quality (preventing resin burns) and strength. The system is also constructed using special materials which offers enhanced corrosion resistance to extend service life and help prevent contamination defects from appearing in the molded part.

Summit-Series Hot Runner System

Ideal for molding challenging abrasive, corrosive, shear and temperature-sensitive resins like PC, POM and PBT in medical, personal care and technical applications. Summit-Series Nozzles feature a precise thermal profile (generally only 5% max temp. variation). The system overall provides durability, extends service life when processing corrosive or abrasive resins and prevent contamination defects in molded parts from premature wear of internal components.

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Cold Deck

Valve-gated cold decks for precision LSR molding in single-shot or overmolding applications are offered from Mold-Masters through its exclusive strategic partnership with Kipe Molds. The specialized LSR nozzles provide wide shot ranges which include optimized gate designs, providing faster cycle times and optimized part quality. Integrated water jackets accurately maintain process temperatures to help ensure high molded part quality. Valve gated designs enhance process control and enable a wide range of material viscosity compatibility.

TempMaster M3 Temperature Controller Featuring TC-Connect Technology

The TempMaster M3 controller platform incorporates new innovations including TC-Connect technology that eliminates the need for traditional T/C control cables altogether. TC-Connect utilizes a new eBOX design that attaches to the mold. A single, thin and lightweight data communication cable (similar in size to Ethernet) connects from the back of the M3 controller to the eBOX. This technology is compatible with new and any older (retrofit) hot runner systems.

TempMaster Manifold Plastic Leakage Detection

Capability enhancements can be found on the TempMaster hot runner temperature controllers, which use thermal analysis to detect plastic leakage within the manifold pocket, saving on repair costs and downtime.

TempMaster ME Hot Runner Temperature Controller

The TempMaster-ME platform is focused on providing a controller unit that is highly economical, simple to operate/maintain and available with short lead times. The TempMaster-ME controller is suitable for low-cavitation molds (12 zones max) in a compact and lightweight package that is packed with production and safety features.

SmartMOLD Injection Mold Monitoring System

The SmartMOLD injection mold monitoring system is a cloud-based software platform dedicated to providing real-time data. Process data is collected from sensors embedded within the injection mold which offers feedback and insights to enhance productivity. SmartMOLD software also offers performance tracking, downtime tracking, scrap tracking, maintenance reminders, alerts, reporting, analytics, mold info, document storage and more.

The K Show runs October 19-26, 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
