Mueller Prost (St. Louis, Missouri) has announced the partners and associates of the firm have joined Wipfli (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), a top 20 accounting and consulting firm in the U.S. that has more than 2,900 associates and 84,000 clients. Effective June 1, 2021, Mueller Prost says, both companies will capitalize on service synergies including health care reimbursement and specialty tax services, while deepening industry specialization with complimentary niche industry concentrations.

“We are excited to join the Wipfli team. We are grateful to our clients and our people who have helped us become who we are today—and we look forward to this next step in serving our clients in an even greater capacity together,” says Doug Mueller, Mueller Prost co-founder and president. “Over the years, we have placed great emphasis on our culture and family values. Wipfli’s core values, knowledge and dedication to client service align very well.”

Similar to Mueller Prost, Wipfli has specialized knowledge in the healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit and construction and real estate industries. Additionally, Wipfli focuses on providing special services for financial institutions, governments, private equity, financial services, tribal gaming and government, agribusiness and dealerships.

Access to additional resources and capabilities will reportedly allow Mueller Prost’s clients to grow their organizations with Wipfli’s technology, digital transformation, business intelligence and software solutions. Wipfli also adds private client services, including private wealth management and financial planning.

“Our team of manufacturing industry specialists will continue to be fiercely focused on the tool building industry, driven to add value to our clients at every step along the way.” – Mueller Prost Partner Mike Devereux

Wipfli Managing Partner Kurt Gresens says the move will expand Wipfli’s presence into Missouri and Southern California while expanding their talent base in India. Mueller Prost says it also enhances Wipfli’s deep knowledge and expertise in several key industry verticals and brings a strong leadership team to Wipfli. “Wipfli’s mission is to create a lasting, positive impact on our clients, associates and communities,” Gresens adds. “Together with Mueller Prost, we’ll be able to do that on a broader and deeper level.”

Moving forward, Mueller Prost says its clients can continue to expect strong and consistent relationships, expanded industry impact, industry commitment and focus and to continually work and interact with top talent.

Mueller Prost Partner Mike Devereux says “I am excited about what this merger means for our tool building clients. Both Wipfli and Mueller Prost have a focus on the moldmaking industry, with creativity to help manufacturers see beyond today’s most complex business challenges. Our combined knowledge and experience puts us in a better place to serve our clients, from operational and financial improvements to large-scale digital transformation, we’ll help clients achieve lasting results and set their sights on new goals.”
