EuroMold 2011: Innovative Special Themes – Stand expansion – Exhibiting area growing by 4.1%
Innovations through Moldmaking and Tooling, Engineering Services and Partner Country Korea.
The 18th EuroMold, World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, will take place Nov. 29 – Dec. 2, 2011. The show expects about 1,500 exhibitors from 45 countries and approximately 60,000 trade visitors. EuroMold presenting a positive development: the exhibition area growing by 4.1% in comparison to the same period in 2011, many exhibitors have expanded their stands. With the partner country Korea and many innovative special shows EuroMold once again will present several highlights and further extend its position as the leading international trade fair for product development.
EuroMold shows in halls 8, 9, 11 and the “Galleria” the latest developments in all areas of product development on an area of 75,000 m². This year’s highlights being the partner country Korea, the special show “Innovations through Moldmaking and Tooling, “e-Production for everyone” as well as high-class conferences, forums and workshops.
The unique EuroMold fair concept “From Idea to Prototype to Series Production” clearly illustrates the entire process chain. Here all parties involved in product development will be united – from designers, to moldmakers, machine tool producers, and subcontractors to users. Core areas at EuroMold are of course Moldmaking and Tooling as well as Rapid Prototyping, Patternmaking and Prototypes, CAD/CAM, Simulation/VR, Machine Tools and Tools, Engineering and Design.
Large attendance from abroad – first time exhibitors from 16 countries EuroMold 2011 will gather exhibitors from at least 45 countries. As per today (July 1, 2011) EuroMold has increased the number of international exhibitors especially in Europe – among others from Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy as well as Switzerland. Korea as a partner country can significantly increase its exhibitor’s presence. The high internationality is also reflected by the number of first time exhibitors. Six Months ahead of the show 57 companies from 16 countries have already signed up for the first time. Most of them come from Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain and Turkey. Predominantly these exhibitors are involved in Moldmaking and
Tooling (35.1% of first time exhibitors), Design and Engineering, Simulation and VR which also emphasis the rising importance of these technology areas at EuroMold.
EuroMold specific sectors
Moldmaking and Tooling sector makes up for 40.3% of all exhibitors at EuroMold, followed by “Rapid Prototyping and Tooling” (16.8%) and Tools (15.5%) Other important areas of the process chain are the areas of “Machine Tools” (15.3%), “Patternmaking + Prototyping” (15%), Software & Hardware (13.9%) and Engineering (11.6%)
Partner Country Korea
Korea plays a significant role as an Asian industry nation. Next to the Korean companies the Korean research institutions and relevant trade associations, such as KODMIC, will present themselves at EuroMold 2011.
Additional opportunities for collaboration will be shown at the one-day FORUM Partner Country KOREA. An important milestone in the relationship between Korea and Europe is the Free Trade Agreement (EFTA), which will be introduced on July 1st, 2011. Relations with the EU, that has already become second largest trading partner of Korea after China, are further strengthened as a result of the agreement. For most of the exports from EU to Korea the customs will be void according to the Free Trade Agreement.
Consequently the German machine engineering and plant engineering will benefit as well as other industry areas.
Highlights and Special Themes
At EuroMold 2011 the latest technologies showcased by the exhibitors will be flanked by innovative workshops and special shows.
‘e-Production for Everyone’, which takes place already for the third time at EuroMold, became a spectator magnet in hall 11 since its premiere and underwent a spectacular development. At EuroMold 2011 this special show in hall 11 will provide insight to trends and future applications of additive manufacturing.
“Innovations through Moldmaking and Tooling” is a new special show in hall 8. With the slogan “German Moldmaking – we create value” and covering about 400sqm the show will illustrate specific exhibits as well as Moldmaking and Tooling as the key technologies emphasising on Germany as the industry center. The special show is complemented by a field of education in which the various training opportunities in Moldmaking and Tooling are presented.
Hall 11 = ‘House of Creation’
The new, modern hall 11 becomes ‘House of Creation’, another highlight at EuroMold 2011. ‘House of Creation’ will comprise the sectors ‘Design + Engineering’, ‘Materials’, ‘Simulation + VR’ and ‘Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing’. Thus it creates a unique market place for modern product development. Apart from this EuroMold has already established itself for years as the biggest and most important market place for additive manufacturing (Rapid X technologies) in Europe.
International conferences, forums and workshops In 2011, EuroMold highlights several international conferences as well as numerous forums and workshops, with their importance as international contacts, innovation and technology exchange. The 13th consecutive ‚Wohlers Conference’ entitled “Design Innovation from Additive Manufacturing” will be conducted at EuroMold on Thursday, Dec.1, 2011.
EuroMold presents three new conferences, that are offered in cooperation with “Haus der Technik” in Essen: the two-day conference Injections molds (Nov. 29 – 30, 2011), “Developing with plastic materials” conference (Nov.30, 2011) as well as the “Pre-calculation of injection molding” (Dec. 1, 2011).
In addition EuroMold presents for the first time “Strategies and Trends in Moldmaking and Tooling” conference, which is organised in cooperation with the “Süddeutschen Kunststoffzentrum, Würzburg” on November 30, 2011.
Furthermore, EuroMold 2011 traditionally presents the forum “design + engineering” in hall 11.0 with sessions in areas of “design + engineering”, “Simulation and VR”, “Rapid Prototyping” and “Industrial design”. The two-day forum “Partner Country Korea” will take place in hall 9.0. The participations at these forums are free of charge for the visitors of EuroMold.
Additionally EuroMold supports the international design and construction competition Formula Student. For the fourth time a workshop will be held at the show in order to mediate the characteristics within the development of racing cars on Dec. 2, 2011.
