Waukesha County Technical College is working to narrow the Skills Gap by preparing future moldmakers on state-of-the-art equipment. Each year the Tool and Die program admits approximately 60 students, but demand for WCTC students is high and many first year students choose to “job out” and finish their degree through the WCTC Tool and Die apprenticeship program with their employer sponsoring the remainder of their education. A majority of the second year students shown in the photo are finishing the fulltime Tool and Die program while working part-time in shops. By completing the fulltime program they satisfy the schooling requirement and are just about guaranteed to be hired as apprentices. Click here to read about each pictured student's story.
