Technology is key to the advancement of any industry--especially mold manufacturing--but it is PEOPLE who keep this industry moving. People have drive and passion that lead to ideas and developments when communicated to the right "other" people. Nowhere is this more evident than at a meetingplace outside of the shop--where like minds get togehter and share experiences, challenges and solutions. This is what I see each year at the AMBA's national convention, and last month was the first time in a long time that I met NEW moldmakers at this event. With the time, location and format updated, new relationships were born and new concepts revealed. It was a bit exhilarating! (Check out some photos from the event taken by Todd Schuett of Creative Technology). The intimate roundtable format brought real sharing, and that is usually where the magic happens. So, the next time you are considering a trip outside your company walls for a little inspiration, assistance or insight into how to make your business better look for those events that promote discussion. It's amazing what can come out of a simple round table surrounded by a bunch of gals and guys with one major thing in common: moldmaking. I think it's time to check out amerimold next week in Novi, MI. We have five panel/roundtable discussions going on for the two days--covering mold maintenance and repair, conformal cooling, five-axis machining, strategies for solving our skilled labor shortage and for gaining new business. Not to mention our keynotes, exhibits, Leadtime Leader Awards Ceremony and Casino Night Party! Register today for a free exhibit hall pass and a $50 conference discount compliments of MoldMaking Technology.
