The National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) announces that it has launched a new credential to validate an instructor’s or evaluator’s parts inspection skills. Designed for manufacturers and schools, the new “NIMS Inspector Credential” allows a much faster, more efficient performance validation process within the NIMS online structural framework.
MachineMetrics’ industrial IoT platform announced today that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Industrial Software Competency status. This designation recognizes that MachineMetrics has demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success building solutions for discrete manufacturing. These specialized software solutions enable companies to increase the pace of product innovation, while decreasing production and operational costs.
OESA, Harbour Results Releases Q2 2019 Automotive Tooling Barometer Survey Results
The Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) and Harbour Results, Inc., (HRI) recently released the results of their Q2 2019 Automotive Tooling Barometer Survey. The results show that the tooling industry continues to slow, with North American capacity utilization at its lowest mark since 2016 when the metric first started being collected.
Fives Giddings & Lewis 160th Anniversary Open House a Success
Fives Giddings & Lewis 160th anniversary open house was a hugely popular event. Approximately 1,000 people were welcomed and toured the facility. Thursday, June 20, brought suppliers, customers, channel partners, media and others within the machine tool industry to Fond Du Lac, WI, to celebrate the event. On Saturday, June 22, employees and their families, as well as retires and the community joined the celebration.
Fritz Studer AG is proud to announce that its 18 year old employee, Josia Langhart, who is completing his training at Studer, took a spot on the podium with his team partner, Raphael Furrer. Both qualified as Swiss champions in 2018 for the 45th WorldSkills Championship and went on to compete against other teams in their category at WorldSkills 2019 in Russia. After four days of intensive competition, the two lucky bronze medal winners (together with Japan and Brazil) beamed on the podium.
