Progressive Components introduces the C-Series UniLifter mold undercut release system, which is able to compensate for misaligned mold ejector plates.
The new C-Gib features a cylindrical surface that the C-Coupling travels along when ejecting a molded undercut. Said to be able to self-adjust in both the X- and Y-axis, smooth travel along the black-nitrided surfaces reportedly prevent stress and wear between core blades and mold inserts, while providing a surface against molding pressure versus the single point contact of dowel pins or tooling balls.
The C-Series UniLifter is fully compatible with the existing UniLifter product line. Should a molder be experiencing ejector plates cycling out of alignment, the traditional U-Couplings and T-Gibs can be changed out to the new C-Couplings and C-Gibs that are at the exact same height, and therefore allow the mold’s core blades to remain in use.
Further, to assist mold assembly, Progressive says it has developed a click-in-place feature that enables the toolmaker to set the core blade, C-Coupling, and T-Gib to the correct angle and position for easy assembly into the mold plate pocket without parts sliding out of place.
In addition, new S-7 (hardened to 54-56 HRC) core blades, core blades up to to 20” in length and ion-nitrided round core blades (for when used as lifter rods) have been added to the product range.
Progressive Components will be exhibiting its technologies at Amerimold 2021.
