Mold-Masters will showcase its Accu-Valve premium cylinder valve gate components at Amerimold 2021, which feature continuous 360-degree pin guidance in close proximity to the gate for precise valve pin alignment that does not require direct reliance on cavity steel. This advanced design is said to significantly minimize wear of the gate and valve pin, factors that often lead to gate quality deterioration over time. By maintaining these critical, high-tolerance dimensions and concentricity, Accu-Valve avoids costly maintenance and downtime, enhances reliability and extends service life for millions of cycles.
The gating option, according to Mold-Masters, meets application needs for medical, packaging, personal care and other industries, and are available with Mold-Masters’ three Million Cycle one-year warranty.
The Accu-Valve GX is a new addition to this valve gate family that features a replaceable gate insert (with integrated valve pin guide) for simplified maintenance. This design reportedly provides molders with an easy-to-replace component which eliminates traditional gate hole rework/welding or having to worry about matching tight tolerances. Because users only need to reorder the gate insert, Mold-Masters says downtime is minimized, which also allows for more predictable maintenance costs. Further, moldmakers are only required to create a simple hole to accommodate the gate insert rather than precision gate diameter.
The compact Ø3-mm OD tip (1.0-mm gate) can fit on a wide range of parts. Although this gate design will produce a double witness ring, since tip contouring and texturing is possible, the visual impact of the ring can be minimized on the part surface.
Accu-Valve GX is recommended for commodity/polyolefin resins (PP, PE, TPE) and is suitable for packaging and other similar applications (including those which are fast cycling). The product is also compatible with Mold-Masters’ Master-Series and Summit-Series hot runner systems using nozzle sizes Femto to Centi (5-50 g).
