YG-1’s SV-point spade drill inserts provide longer tool life at higher spindle speeds and feeds. The drill inserts perform in a wide range of applications and materials including steel, stainless steel and cast iron. The inserts also offer H-coating for high heat and wear resistance, sinusoidal thinning edge for smooth cutting and improved centering, positive rake angle for improved hole finish, and low thrust force. Three material options include super cobalt (T15) for improved tool life and performance in size range 9.5 to 114.3 mm, premium cobalt (M48) for extended tool live over T15 in harder materials in size range 9.5 to 114.3 mm and carbide C5 (P40) for longer tool life and faster speeds and feeds in rigid setups in size range 9.5 to 47.6 mm.
