Double Rack Lifter Expansion Enhances Undercut Release Capabilities
CUMSA’s KR lifters, like the DR or XR series, are designed to reduce the size of the overall mold and simplify tool construction. New KR series sizes improves coolant delivery and mold undercuts.
CUMSA has expanded its cooled double rack lifters (KR) series for the release of undercuts with additional available sizes. Targeting difficult-to-cool inserts, the KR lifter maintains the same benefits and features as the DR series, with an internal housing that can incorporate a cooling circuit that connects the mold to a cooling channel.
KR and DR lifters are designed to reduce the size of the overall mold and simplify tool construction. They also help to cut down the ejection stroke. The system is oriented along a straight, vertical plane, improving rigidity and limiting the need for multiple angled drills through multiple mold plates.
The KR series now includes KR40125L & KR46125L with cooling cascade FC40, specifically designed for the plastics industry. CUMSA says these smooth double rack lifters can now release undercuts from 17-52 mm, with an ejection stroke of 125 mm. The addition of a drilled interior makes it possible to deliver coolant to the lifter head.
