Versatile Mold and Design is Acquired by The Heico Companies
The Georgia-based moldmaker/molder’s expertise in the development of high-precision molds and molding services grows Heico’s portfolio.
The Heico Companies, a family-owned business and parent holding company for a diverse portfolio of manufacturing, construction and industrial services businesses, has completed its acquisition of Versatile Mold and Design Inc. Headquartered in Rutledge, Georgia, Versatile designs, builds and maintains high-precision molds for thermoplastic and thermoset materials and provides molding services as well.
Under the leadership of the Heusser family, Versatile Mold and Design has developed the capabilities necessary to provide customers with full support through all the phases of the molding process. In addition to building high-quality domestic and offshore production tooling, Versatile adds value to its customers through prototype tooling, 3D printing, mold sampling, spare parts programs, high-speed laser measuring and in-house molding. The moldmaker/molder supports customers in the energy and power, automotive, pharmaceutical, construction, oil and gas, and medical industries.
“Versatile Mold and Design’s commitment to innovation and excellence aligns seamlessly with our vision,” notes Barbara Philibert, president and CEO of The Heico Companies’ Industrial Technologies Group. “This union amplifies our capabilities, empowering us to deliver solutions across every phase of the molding process.”
The acquisition of Versatile Mold and Design adds a key component to The Heico Companies’ Plastics Segment. Versatile will complement the molding operations of Davies Molding, which is part of the Heico Industrial Technologies Group. Together, the companies are expected to offer end-to-end turnkey plastic parts solutions.
Bob Heusser, president of Versatile Mold and Design, says that the company has “found a partner in Heico and Davies Molding that will enable us to service the full needs of our international customers.”
