Siemens PLM Software Offers First-Ever Free Download of Full Function Solid Edge and Femap.
Latest Versions of Leading 3D CAD and CAE Applications – along with Access to On-Line Training – Now Available to use for 45 days via Free Download.
Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced that the latest full-function versions of Solid Edge® software and Femap™ software with NX™ NASTRAN® software, can be downloaded and used at no-charge for 45 days. This first ever offer provides free trial licenses for the full production versions of Solid Edge ST4 and Femap 10.2, and includes access to extensive learning resources. Interested parties have the option to download either or both applications.
Solid Edge ST4 users will experience state-of-the-art 3D computer-aided design (CAD) with synchronous technology, a unique capability which combines the speed and flexibility of direct modeling with the precise control of dimension driven design, while Femap users will benefit from high-powered computer-aided engineering analysis (CAE) delivered in an easy to use application. The software is available in multiple languages and a complete description of the program with a link to the free download sites for Solid Edge and Femap can be found at www.siemens.com/plm/free-solid-edge and www.siemens.com/plm/free-femap respectively.
“The most effective method of evaluating CAD and CAE software is to use the production versions in your own environment,” said John Fox, vice president of Velocity Series Marketing, Siemens PLM Software. “By providing a free download of Solid Edge and Femap, along with access to tutorials, user forums and other resources, we are making it easier than ever to perform that evaluation, while at the same time enabling an exceptional user experience. Now, with no obligation, anyone can download the full production versions of Solid Edge and Femap, try them out for themselves, and discover how they can increase engineering productivity, be more creative, and simply design better.”
Full function software with effective training: The Solid Edge trial delivers full function mainstream CAD capabilities including part modeling, surfacing, sheet metal design, assembly design, drafting, assembly applications, simulation, rendering, mold tooling design, web publisher, and data translators. And of course the software includes full access to groundbreaking synchronous technology in Solid Edge.
The Femap trial includes all finite element modeling (FEM) pre and post processing capabilities necessary to use the NX Nastran finite element analysis (FEA) solver, which is also included in the trial. Both the Dynamic Response and Optimization add-on’s to NX Nastran are part of the offering. There are no restrictions on the number of saves, part sizes, or other factors that would limit a user’s ability to create complete product designs.
Also included in these offers is access to a diverse set of learning resources to help users get the most out of the applications during the trial. To help users get acclimated with the software and let them collaborate with other users, all registrants are given access to dedicated user forums which are also staffed by either Solid Edge or Femap technical specialists. Registrants will also have access to interactive tutorials and video tips to help them become more proficient with Solid Edge and/or Femap.
The free 45-day trial licenses of Solid Edge and Femap are available now. Please visit www.siemens.com/plm/free-solid-edge and www.siemens.com/plm/free-femap to obtain more information and to download either or both software applications.
