Discover Mazak ­ Tomorrow¹s Technology Today is Largest Event of Its Kind

More than 30 new machines featured, along with manufacturing plant where 100 models of machines are produced.

As part of the ongoing Discover Mazak series,Mazak will host the largest event of its kind at its Florence, Kentucky campus this Fall. During Discover Mazak – Tomorrow's Technology Today, over 30 new innovative machines will be featured, as well as a demonstration of Mazak'sProduction-On-Demand manufacturing plant, where over 100 models of machines are produced. Discover Mazak – Tomorrow’s Technology Today is a unique two-week event scheduled for October 17th-27th, during which Mazak will welcome nearly 2,000 visitors from across North America to experience the latest machine tool innovations.

Discover Mazak - Tomorrow’s Technology Today will feature the most advanced turning, milling and Multi-Tasking metalcutting solutions, including many forms of 5-axis machining technologies. During the course of the event, visitors will have the opportunity to attend a variety of technology presentations, and experiencereal-world application machining demonstrations. Mazak experts, as well as the company’s VIP technology partners, will also be on hand to offer a variety technology seminars and personalized consultation on manufacturers’ unique challenges. Topics covered will include the Five Levels of Multi-Tasking, automation technology, industry-segment focused process development and manufacturing technology.

“Discover Mazak - Tomorrow’s Technology Today will be like no other manufacturing event the industry hasseen,” said Brian Papke, president of Mazak Corporation. “What makes it and all Mazak events different is that visitors not only see the latest machine tool technology in action, they experience our Production-On-Demand process firsthand at our manufacturing plant. Our plant is driven by customer need,which results in new product development, such as the unique spindle headstock of the ORBITEC 20 for the valve industry, and the combination tailstock with 40” boring bar for the energy industry. The presentation of new technology alongside the actual manufacturing process is unique to Mazak here in NorthAmerica, and something only we can provide.”

Mazak produces over 100 models of machines tools at its Florence plant, and the company has invested $13 million in expanding the facility’s capabilities through additional floor space and technology upgrades to increase output to 150 machine tools per month. As a result of those investments, attendees of Tomorrow’s Technology Today will be able to tour the plant and see, first hand, the new installation of another VERSATECH V-140N5-axis double-column machining center for large part production and a new Mazak Optonics cell with three laser fabrication centers that improve productivity of sheet metal parts.

At Discover Mazak - Tomorrow’s Technology Today, visitors will also learn all the benefits of Mazak’s Optimum Plus program, which is a comprehensive program designed to provide Mazak customers with astrong competitive advantage, including 97% same day parts delivery. Optimum Plus encompasses many services Mazak has developed over the years and upgrades them as it establishes a clear plan for continual improvement in how the company supports its customers’ operations.
