The Commitment Challenge
I want to encourage (and challenge) our readers to commit locally to recruiting our next generation of workers. We all need to do our part, and sometimes it actually only takes a small investment to make a big impact. Here's one example.
I want to encourage you to commit locally to recruiting that next generation of workers that continues to be in the headlines. We all need to do our part, and sometimes it actually only takes a small investment to make a big impact. Here's one example.
We at Gardner Business Media are in the business of creating content to help educate and inform a target audience and of selling ad space to help support that content, so it should have been no surprise when a colleague of mine, Jackie Dalzell, used her sales & marketing savvy, industry knowledge and people passion to create and place an ad in her son's school paper to promote moldmaking careers.
This ad was available for a nominal fee, but gives a target audience of high school students decent exposure to manufacturing ... something they may not have seen otherwise. It was also relatively simple to assemble since we had materials in-house that MMT previously created for our MoldMaking Matters Video Series and Discussion Guide. Imagine if we all took out ads in our local school district newspapers and started getting kids excited about the world we are all so passionate and concerned about. We won't know until we try.
So I challenge you to come up with innovative, interesting and low-cost ways (which should come naturally to all of you considering the work you do every day) to act locally to grab the attention of that next generation!
