I chatted with some attendees about all things amerimold.
When it comes to our amerimold show, the comment I hear most often is that while it is a smaller show, everyone there is interested—and engaged—in searching out the latest in products, equipment and technology to get their jobs done as speedily and accurately as possible. Definitely no tire kickers!
I snagged a first-time attendee for his comments. Vincent Tool Tooling Manager Kenny Skar said that he connected with some old contacts and made some new ones. “Due to our short travel distance, our cost to attend was low so it was a good enough bang for the buck,” Kenny related. “I did go looking for some specific products and got an okay list to follow up with. We had some customers also walking the floor and it was easier to chat there, rather than at the shop, when the heat is on day-to-day while they are busy running to shop floor.”
Tim Barkdoll, Foreman at Heritage Mold, told me that his goal at amerimold was to find something different than what he is used to—and that will make the shop a more productive place. “I met a new welding source and reconnected with several vendors that I had lost contact with,” Tim said, “ I like that the show is not so big that it can’t be seen in one day.”
DS Mold Project Engineer Mark Nordgren attended amerimold primarily looking for materials and components, and reported to me that he has already solicited quotes from one of the vendors and samples products are on the way. “We were still there till just past the official closing time chatting with the vendors,” he said.
