Keeping the EDM and Holiday Lights Burning
With Christmas right around the corner, some holiday spirit found at Industrial Molds Group inspired this blog.
At holiday time, before you can work in this EDM cell at Industrial Molds Group in Rockford, Illinois, you have to answer one very important question...
Rounding the corner as I entered the EDM department at Industrial Molds I notice a lot of holiday merriment being expressed, and an odd-looking fellow peering down at everyone.
Looking around one notices a somewhat icy presence (in the way of a snowman) on a door to the Charmilles EDM automation cell.
"Bob", as the guys at Industrial Molds call him, stands happily atop a cabinet that's part of the company's Sodick EDM cell with his Santa hat on and lights aglow at Industrial Molds.
During the tour, I was treated to an extra festive display of holiday cheer in Jeff Noud's office, complete with roaring fires crackling on his computer screens. Noud, who is automation manager at Industrial Molds, lets me know he's the Clark Griswold of Christmas, but I like his all-out holiday spirit.
What's Christmas without the leg lamp from the movie "A Christmas Story"? Yep, it's proudly on display in Jeff Noud's office at Industrial Molds Group in Rockford, Illinois. Made my day to see it, and I hope it made your day, too. Merry Christmas!
With Christmas right around the corner, some holiday spirit found while touring the plant of Industrial Molds Group in Rockford, Illinois, inspired this fun blog.
I drove out to Industrial Molds to meet with Wes Stephens, account manager, and Jeff Noud, automation manager, to tour the company’s plant and gather intel for a feature I’m writing about automation for MMT’s March 2017 issue. I learned so much on the tour and took several photographs, including those in this mini slideshow that express, to the extent possible, the holiday spirit some of the employees display at work.
As Chris, an EDM machine operator aptly pointed out, the guys spend a lot of hours in the shop every day, so they may as well make it festive during the holidays, right?
