High Tech Laser & Polishing is a service provider that supports mold builders with multiple services that include mold polishing, laser engraving/texturing and laser welding. The polishing department offers finishes from mirror diamond, paper, stone and blasted according to the SPI industry standards. Many of the company’s projects require its polishers to work under a microscope for small, detailed jobs.
High Tech Laser engraves on tool steels, aluminum, copper and graphite with the depths ranging from less than 0.001" up to 0.125". Logos, cavity ID, tool identification or text can be accomplished on a contoured surface, a sidewall or down in a deep pocket. One of High Tech Laser’s lasers has the capability to travel 62"=X, 31"=Y, 42"=Z and has a 2,200-lb. weight capacity.
In addition, the welding department offers laser welding and TIG welding services on various tool steels, aluminum and copper materials. On many projects after the part has been welded, High Tech will blend down the weld to match the existing surface finish.
