The American Mold Builders Association (AMBA) is a trade association with a mission to provide workforce development solutions, networking and benchmarking opportunities and industry promotion for mold manufacturers. In 2023, AMBA is celebrating its 50th year anniversary.

AMBA provides a variety of resources for U.S. moldmakers and die-cast makers. The “AMBA Benchmarking – 2023 Shop Rate Report” for example, provides leading-edge benchmarking information to executives for the purpose of enabling them to make better, more informed decisions.

This report includes charge rates specific to services supplied by U.S. mold manufacturers in engineering, moldmaking and specialty services. Additionally, this report includes details regarding the following:

  • Company demographics
  • Mold size and type production
  • Average overhead cost
  • Gross margin ranges by annual sales revenue
  • Current versus anticipated capacity utilization.

Alternatively, two annual publications, The American Mold Builder and the AMBA 2023 Sourcebook, report on the latest market trends, technologies, products/services and AMBA news, and provide advertisers with a direct link to current and potential customers, respectively.

AMBA also hosts an annual event, the “Emerging Leaders Network,” a group that brings together 40-and-under innovative, creative and dedicated young professionals from across all AMBA member companies.

All Emerging Leaders events and learning and growth opportunities are held exclusively for young professionals in the mold building industry. Future events will focus on networking, leadership skills, benchmarking and creating important, lasting connections in the AMBA association.
