Slide Products says it is taking a number of steps to reduce our impact on the environment, which includes its most recent SHARP (Slide Hazardous Aerosol Return Program). Aiming to keep hazardous materials out of the waste stream, protect ground water and reduce hazardous waste handling costs, Slide will now take back used Slide-labeled aerosol cans and cover the cost for proper hazmat waste processing and recycling, helping Slide customers properly manage their aerosol can disposal programs.

The company points to the other ways in which it already properly manages the hazardous waste it generates, with the eventual goal to eliminate waste completely. Currently, any remnant chemical waste Slide produces is collected, incinerated and turned into energy that is sold back to the power company. This decreases the load placed on landfills and helps prevent potentially dangerous materials from leaching out and polluting the surrounding environment.

In addition, a solar array has been installed and now generates up to 42% of the energy the company needs to manufacture its products.
