The L.S. Starrett Company, a leading global manufacturer of precision measuring tools and gages, metrology systems and more, has announced the appointment of David Allen as vice president, Starrett Metrology Systems, effective November 18, 2019. In this newly created role, Allen will be responsible for the strategy, growth and profitability of the advanced metrology systems including Starrett Bytewise, Starrett Tru-Stone Technologies, Starrett-Kinemetric Systems, metrology software development, force measurement systems and Starrett Special Gage Department.
Territory Account Manager Jim Ellingsen will work with customers who utilize the NCSIMUL manufacturing simulation solution. New Territory Account Manager Jim Ellingsen has been hired by the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Production Software business as a member of the sales team for NCSIMUL manufacturing simulation software. Based out of Bloomington, Minnesota, Ellingsen will serve customers in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Ellingsen, whose career includes more than 30 years of global sales experience in the manufacturing industry, attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. “I am able to truly understand the unique challenges and demands faced by our customers within the different industry niches,” he says.
SPE-Inspiring Plastics Professionals announces several new editorial appointments for the following SPE technical journals: Polymer Engineering & Science, Polymer Composites, and the Journal of Vinyl & Additive Technology. The new editorial team is focused on ensuring smooth journal operations including good authorial experience in the submission process, timely peer reviews, and objective decision-making in the publication process. The new editorial team plans to expand the reach of SPE journals to much broader global scientific communities. Publication of invited comprehensive review articles on maturing research and perspective articles on emerging research is a top priority.
Stratasys Ltd. announced the appointment of Yoav Zeif as the company’s new chief executive officer, effective February 18, 2020. Current Interim CEO Elchanan (Elan) Jaglom will continue in his role as chairman. Zeif brings broad, global experience in industry transformation to Stratasys, having served in senior leadership roles for both public and private multi-billion-dollar corporations, leading worldwide operations across industries and professional domains. Zeif was president of the Americas Division, head of product offering and chief commercial officer at Netafim, the world’s largest micro-irrigation company, from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of products and marketing at Makhteshim (now Adama Ltd.), a global crop-protection company, where he managed the entire portfolio of products and all global commercial relationships. Since 2018, Zeif has been a partner in the New York office of McKinsey & Company. Zeif obtained an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in International Economics from Bar-Ilan University.
