New and exciting things are coming to this year’s Amerimold Expo in Chicago and I thought I’d give readers a sneak preview.

First, I want to say that registration is now open for Amerimold, so be sure to visit amerimoldexpo.com to get your free exhibit hall pass. Introduced in 1999 as the MoldMaking Expo, Amerimold has evolved over the years in style, format and size, but it has never wavered from being The Event for Mold Manufacturing. So join us on June 14-15 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, and prepare to see another record-breaking exhibition and a few new programs!

NEW! Amerimold Tech Talks

As a new addition to the show floor this year, Tech Talks, sponsored by Autodesk, will offer attendees cutting edge technical information free with registration. Presentations are vetted by MMT’s own Editor-In-Chief, Christina Fuges, and will be packed with informative content from experts in such areas as additive manufacturing, automation, design and simulation, smart molding, optimized machining strategies, and mold maintenance, repair and surface treatment. And that’s just on day one!

NEW! Machining Demonstrations

Come to Amerimold and see real machines, in action, on the show floor. Selected builders will be given the chance to give a presentation about a specific technology, while demonstrating how it works, for attendees to see firsthand. Hint: Takumi and Wittmann Battenfeld are among our presenters!

NEW! Additive Manufacturing Workshop

On June 13, the day before Amerimold opens, UL’s Additive Manufacturing Competency Center is offering a paid workshop that will provide attendees with a strong foundation on how (or if) you can use AM in your facility. Instructional topics include:

  • Additive manufacturing industry and technology overview
  • The four phases of the 3D printing process
  • Activity based learning on how the technology is being utilized in tool making and injection molding.

Get all the details, and check back for updates, at amerimoldexpo.com and don’t forget to register!
